Expander is a Berlin based filmproduction operating internationally.
Our aim is to produce documentaries and artistic projects which explore new paths in form and content.
Besides own film and music video productions Expander works in close collaboration with various artists for video and film projects shown in exhibitions and museums around the world, accompanies projects for cultural institutions, contributes features for television, develops stage design and video in theatre plays.
We also offer professional postproduction including editing, color grading, sfx, title design and animation.

Kirsten Burger studied fine arts and graphic design in Vienna and Hamburg
and works as theatre director, actress, writer and filmmaker in Berlin.
She also has an education in dance and acting.
Stefan Schmied has a background in theatre and studied cultural science and film.
Lilli Kuschel and Mikko Gaestel both graduaded as »Meisterschüler« at University of Fine Arts Berlin and create video installations and experimental films as their own artistic work. Among others they were exhibited at Transmediale Berlin, Architecture Filmfestival Rotterdam, Contemporary Art Museum Wien, Bremerhaven Art Museum and Goethe Institute New York.
Kirsten Burger works as a theatre director, actress, writer and filmmaker in Berlin. She is a founding member of the theatre collective »Oper Dynamo West« and has been acting in theatres and films including plays in Schaubühne Berlin, Sophiensaele, HAU and Bayrische Staatsoper.
